Donald L. | North Carolina Group | North Carolina Central University
I think you can say that leadership runs in my family. It’s a part of who I am – and a big part of why I’m at Enterprise. My dad runs his own business, and always treats people fairly and with respect. I’ve always tried to lead by example – whether it was as captain of my high school and college football teams, or managing employees in my Branch. It’s important to understand that everyone is different and are motivated by different things.
I’ve made great friendships with my co-workers and even some long-term relationships with my customers. And I think my leadership style is a big reason I am able to build strong relationships.
My Career Tips
"Stay patient and work hard. You’ll get noticed. And take full advantage of every opportunity that comes your way."
"Find different ways to stand out. Like being neatly dressed – you’ll build a positive reputation with your managers, co-workers and customers."
"Your managers can help you with more than professional goals. They also have great advice outside of work."
